Biogas Persistence
Items that merit a trip to the library
Persistence may be the key to realizing mankind's hope for cheap, plentiful energy production from cattle manure. The latest report, fresh from the testing fields, says we're not there yet, but implies that hope, like the fuel involved here, springs eternally plentiful. The report, "DEMONSTRATION OF BIOGAS PRODUCTION USING LOW MOISTURE CONTENT BEEF CATTLE MANURE," was made public on May 31, 2001.
We also recommend, for those desiring an overview of the field, "Biogas from Beef Feedlot Manure Not Always A Certainty", prepared by the Westerm Regional Biomass Energy Program. As the report says:
With feedlots in the Texas Panhandle producing more than six million cattle a year, the manure from the feedlots held enormous biogas energy potential, or so everyone thought.
