"Hi, I guess I could not be missed, your web site has been signaled
to me and I will not hide. My hair has a large dynamic range (I generally
apply to it a draconian annual cut). After my annual cut it is normally
unnoticed, but most of the time, I guess, I qualify. These are fresh photos,
half way through the year. If it's not fun it's not physics!"

"A girl friend of mine suggested I join. It seems cool. I hope there
are club-associated activities such as symposiums on superheated steam or
the human genome project! My friend always makes fun of me because I don't
'look like a scientist' or for that matter an Engineer so I suppose. I guess
this is her way of making nice. After reviewing our truly outstanding company
I thought I should try to write something a little more dignified but I
get tired of being dignified so I'll say something about my hair. My hair
has always had a life of its own. On warm humid days, it takes up the whole
sidewalk. It has been remarkable since I was very small, and though I am
quite tall, the thing people remember is my hair. My hair always speaks
my mood and it is the barely controllable mark of passion in my life."

Rockville, Maryland
<http://www.tigr.org/faculty/John_Quackenbush.shtml>
(Encouraged by Victoria McGovern: "Dear Dr. Quackenbush: It has come
to my attention that you are not yet a member of the LFHCfS. This, in my
estimation, is Tragic. You should not hide your light under a bushel basket.
To do so will only lead to unhappiness, desperation, and split ends.
Go. Go, boldly, forth forthwith. Very sincerely yours, Dr. McGovern.")
Dr. Norman Ramsey is a member.
RAMSEY
"All these years I thought I had been growing my hair just for fun,

"I would like to nominate myself to enter this club because of the
following reasons. First, as you can see in the attached photo, I certainly
have (or still have) luxuriant flowing hair. Second, I dyed my hair. I work
in a University where wearing uniform for Professor is required. Because
I dyed my hair blond this semester, it had generated some discussions about
whether Professors should or should not dye their hair. Therefore, I think
I am fully qualified as a member of the club."
